Hello and welcome to Comic Spec.
I wanted to take a few minutes and tell you a little about the Comic Spec Guide .
It is a Comic Guide, it has information on over ¾ of million books and over ½ a million recorded sales of graded books. The Guide allows users to track what books they have and what books they are missing, it allows users to share news and events that they find interesting with other users, and the main function of the guide is to give true and accurate values for CGC Graded books.
The Guide is divided into 4 sections
1. News
a. The news section allows users to share news that they find interesting and that relate to comic books.
b. When the news is shared it is indexed and the guide determines what the news is about. For instance, if a news article is about Venom, then it is grouped with other articles about Venom and a report can be generated as to how many times Venom was in the news this week and what books that have Venom in them are currently selling. We call this the Media Buzz
c. Media Buzz is where the guide displays what’s in the news. You will see a report that is updated in real time that shows how many times a particular subject has appeared in our news feed. You can view those articles, see a weekly report, and of course see recent sales that pertain to the subject of the news.
This is one of the most useful features for people that are flipping books as it helps you determine what books are hot right now.
2. Comic Books
a. The Comic Book section is your traditional Comic guide and has information on books from the silver age to current releases.
b. You can select a book and add it to your collection by simply touching the book cover. The best part of our comic book guide is that when a book is added to your collection, the books information gets separated out in users collection and the user can see the their collection by publisher, artist, writer, or cover artists and anytime that book appears in a list it will be identified as in your collection with a checkmark and a green border.
c. Example you want to see all your books that George Perez worked on you can goto my collection / Artist / George Perez and the guide will list all the books that you have from the artist, what’s cooler is that you can click all missing books and see all the Books from the artist that are not in your collection. This function is available on all screens of the guide’s comic book section.
This includes New Releases, so you will always know what books you have and what books you are missing.
3. Graded Sales
a. This is the main function of the Comic Guide. To view recent sales you simply type in the name of the book and the issue number. The guide will return all the books with that information (variants and such). The user then selects the book that would like to view. By default, the user sees that last 90 Days of sales of all grades that have sold during that time period. We provide all 90 Days Sales data for free. We offer 24 months of sales data in our Premium Membership which is $3.99 a month.
b. The user has the ability to also track his slabs value by adding the graded book to their Book Portfolio this function is also limited to our Premium Members. The Portfolio will track the value of your collection based on real time sales so you will always know the real value of your books. Recent Sales are updated daily.
c. The sales report also provides several charts to help visualize the sales patterns of the books
4. Misc tools
a. Our misc tools includes a grading guide, the ability to look up CGC & CBS books
b. Find local comic shops
c. Grading Reference Guide
d. Ebay sales
